About Ted Falk

Ted Falk was first elected Provencher’s Member of Parliament on November 25, 2013, and was re-elected in 2015, 2019, and 2021 with a personal passion for Faith, Finance, Family and Freedom. He is a community builder with a focus on prudent fiscal responsibility and strong faith-based family values. The riding of Provencher is in the southeastern region of Manitoba, bordering on Minnesota, North Dakota, and Ontario. Some of the U.S. border towns include Emerson/Pembina, N.D., Piney/Pinecreek, Minn., Sprague/Warroad, Minn., South Junction/Roseau, Minn., and Tolstoi/Lancaster, Minn..  Connections between the two countries of Canada and the U.S. run deep with family ties, medical resources, and trade to name a few. Large pig, poultry and dairy farms are active agricultural industries in the area, but common labour would also include trades, transport, and equipment operation. The Provencher riding is also home to a campus of Red River College, Steinbach Bible College, and Providence University.

As an active member of his community long before entering politics, MP Falk’s transition to public service was a natural fit—already giving his time generously to local community organizations while operating his successful small business, Diamond Construction & Gravel. As President and CEO, Mr. Falk led Diamond Construction and Gravel to become a leader in Heavy Construction in Southeastern Manitoba, manufacturing, washing, and production of gravel and stone aggregates to Manitoba Infrastructure Specifications and CSA standards.

Ted Falk served on the Steinbach Credit Union Board for 24 years, first as a member of the board of directors and for 16 years as Board President.  SCU (Steinbach Credit Union) is one of Manitoba’s largest credit unions and among the top 10 in Canada, now with over $9 billion in assets. Relationships, trust, and support have been key objectives in serving its members for over 80 years. SCU was also recognized as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Grads in 2023.

As Provencher’s MP, Ted Falk has served on several parliamentary committees, including Agriculture, Public Accounts, Public Safety and National Security, Justice and Human Rights, and Finance. He has also served as the Conservative Party’s Deputy Shadow Minister for Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, and as a member of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians which reviews legislative, regulatory, policy, administrative and financial framework for national security and intelligence. Currently, Ted sits on the Committee for Natural Resources where he follows the stewardship of energy and environment with interest.

Integrity, accountability, and honesty are important values from which MP Falk operates. He counts it an honour to speak out for the people of Provencher and takes pride in serving his constituency.

As a lifelong resident of Provencher, the breezy Prairie fields of his family home house their horses, a source of continued enjoyment for Ted and his wife, Irene, to whom he has been happily married for 42 years. Ted enjoys the outdoors and participates in the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus which seeks to encourage fishing, hunting, trapping, and shooting sports as acceptable, traditional, environmentally sustainable outdoor heritage activities with a safety credo and a conservation ethic. He is a licenced pilot with Transport Canada and has served as an Executive Member of Steinbach Flying Club. Ted and Irene have 3 accomplished adult children. His 10 growing grandchildren are the source of much pride and boasting rights.
